About Larissa Starr Lewis
[briefly]
(Psst…my first novel has departed my control and is making its way through the exciting phases 🥹)
For ten years, I unspooled 10,000 miles of interesting from products smaller than a postage stamp. I built a business writing about the teensiest tiniest intimacies nuzzled inside modern life, from the communications cables suitable for the cold vacuum of space to the doodads that cool circuit boards. “The excitement Larissa can pull from even the most modest product is not…usual, it is a gift,” my clients would rejoice. But I grew weary of gifting this to ‘The Man,’ and now I use this x-ray vision to pluck the rousing themes, tics, and quirks that make your creative writing unputdownable.
In my own creative writing, I pick apart technology and its lust for loneliness. Mostly through colorful mindf**ks, a linguistic lawlessness, and a love for feeding Pop Rocks to meaty Victorian sentences. I love all styles of writing but especially yearn to be subsumed by glimmering, raging adhd bonfires of words. (So if you think your writing style breaks too many rules to be ‘taken srsly’—run don’t walk to hit me up!)
And…If you’re looking for the cheer section you need to kick-start your writing journey, you’re really in trouble now: I grew up wielding megaphones and cowbells. I did my first of eight IRONMAN triathlons at age 19, and believe I have cheered on a Guinness-Record-clinching number of endurance events.
